Platelet-rich plasma is the platelet concentrate obtained by centrifugation of autologous whole blood. PRP contains a lot of growth factors and proteins. Platelets contain a large number of growth factors, such as platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and transforming growth factor- β (TGF- β), Insulin-like growth factor (IGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), etc.
Platelet-rich plasma is prepared from fresh blood by low speed centrifugation. Centrifuge the collected whole blood at a low speed of 27.5~37.5 rpm for 15~20 min (or 1220 rpm for 5 min) within 4~6 h at room temperature, so that the red blood cells and white blood cells basically sink. Because of the light weight of platelets, most of them remain in the upper plasma, and separate the upper plasma, which is the blood-rich small plate plasma, and more than 70% of the platelets in the whole blood can be obtained. It is mainly used for the prevention and treatment of bleeding in patients with thrombocytopenia and thrombocytopenia caused by various reasons.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) refers to platelet concentrate extracted from autologous blood by centrifugation. Because PRP can promote the repair of bone and soft tissue, and it comes from itself, has no immune rejection, is simple to make, and has little damage to the body, PRP has been applied in many disciplines in the past 20 years, such as orthopedics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, gynecology and obstetrics, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, general surgery, and plastic and aesthetic surgery. Especially in European and American countries, PRP has been widely used. A large number of clinical studies have reported that PRP can accelerate fracture healing, promote wound repair, reduce intraoperative anesthetic dose, reduce intraoperative bleeding and postoperative wound exudation, reduce pain, reduce postoperative complications, shorten hospital stay, and promote postoperative functional recovery.
